Our story
One local team, from selection to installation
Channel Islands Floorcoverings has been family owned and operated since 1985. Owner Keith Speir is named throughout the project archive, guiding material choices and staying accountable for the work.
We use our own installers. We never subcontract our projects. When you hire us for your flooring, you interact with us and us alone. That matters more than it sounds: the person who measured your rooms is the same operation that answers for how they turn out, and there is nobody in between to point at.
The materials have changed almost beyond recognition in four decades. The useful part of the showroom has not: personal guidance, full-size samples and a local team responsible for what is eventually fitted in the home.

What that means in practice is that you can see full boards and full rolls in daylight rather than judging a floor from a chip the size of a credit card. Bring your room measurements and, if you have them, a photo of the space and anything the floor has to sit next to — cabinets, worktops, a tile you are keeping.

Before you get in touch
Where is your showroom?
Our showroom is at 1482 Callens Road, Ventura, CA 93003. We moved here from Oxnard at the start of 2020, and the Ventura showroom is considerably larger with far more on display.
What are your showroom hours?
Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed Sunday and Monday. Appointments are available if those hours do not suit you.
Do you use your own installers?
Yes. We never subcontract our projects. When you hire us for your flooring, you deal with us and us alone, from the showroom through to the final baseboard.
How long have you been in business?
Channel Islands Floorcoverings is family owned and operated, and has been in business since 1985.
What kinds of flooring do you carry?
Three lines: hardwood and laminate, carpet and area rugs, and tile, stone, vinyl and luxury vinyl. Product availability changes, so call or visit the showroom to confirm a particular brand or collection.
Do you work outside Ventura?
We serve Ventura County, and our portfolio includes a custom home in Hidden Hills. If you are not sure whether your project is in range, call us and ask.
How do I get a quote?
Call us on (805) 984-2353 or send us the details of your project through the form on our contact page, and we will get back to you. Bringing your room measurements to the showroom is the fastest way to get to a real number.
Can you make an area rug from carpet?
Most of the carpet we carry can be cut and bound as an area rug. It is often the better answer for a room that already has a floor worth showing.
